Construction Cost:
$27 million

Project Size:
 80,000 SF

The project is a new two-story building with a basement that functions as a surgery and patient room addition located between the main hospital and the existing pavilion surgery building.  The basement encompasses 16,000 square feet, the first-floor surgery is 28,600 square feet, and the 30-bed nursing unit on the second floor occupies 23,500 square feet.  A six-story connector building will link the new addition with the existing hospital at the basement, first-floor, and third-floor levels.  Additional work will include modifications to an entrance, infrastructure support, and renovation in the existing pavilion and existing surgery suits.  Project Bright (Building, Revitalize, and Innovate for Greater Healthcare Tomorrow) expanded the hospital’s ability to serve the people of Fairfield County as they entered the hospital centennial in 2016.
