The Joseph Hotel – Nashville is a 300 room boutique hotel atop a 161,000 square foot, 318 car parking garage. The project site is located in the heart of the Nashville music district on the corner of Korean Veteran’s Boulevard and 4th Avenue South. When construction is complete, this hotel will not only service the Music City Center guests and other enthusiasts of the local arts scene but will also provide parking to the Nashville Symphony Orchestra patrons. Amenities in the hotel include a restaurant and bar, conference and meeting spaces, and a roof-top pool.
The hotel is a 22-story, post tensioned concrete structure supported typically on spread footings and also on drilled piers where the existing storm tunnel extends diagonally across the northern portion of the site. Lateral loads are resisted by the concrete shaft walls around the stair and elevator shafts. The building completely fills the site, resulting in construction immediately adjacent to a future building on the south side and tight to the roadways on the north and east end and the alley on the west.
